Coaches ask questions. We don’t provide the answers – usually.
Our job is to help you look inside yourself for the answers. After you discover what you want, we can help you make a plan to achieve it.
This requires that you as the client take ownership and responsibilityfor finding the answers. It may take quiet reflection, inner dialogue, honesty with yourself, or vulnerability with your coach.
If you are expecting your coach to provide all the answers, you’re going to be disappointed. Because if the coach tells you what to do, you’ll probably be dissatisfied with the end result. You’ll be following someone else’s path and not your own.
So how do you know if you are “coachable” and ready to work with a coach?
I’ve created a checklist below with some questions to consider. Take a moment to see if you’re ready.
