We are committed to supporting leaders who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Here are the actions we have begun to take in order to dismantle White privilege and power in our systems. This is an ongoing process and is just the beginning:

  • Initiated conversations with the ICF Oregon professional coaching board to make diversity and inclusion our highest priority. We are committed to taking action and changing the board makeup by making room for BIPOC members, ensuring programming includes a majority of BIPOC speakers, held the first BIPOC listening session, working to overhaul the website and messaging, etc.
  • Joined Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs and started attending virtual coffee chats to begin getting to know BIPOC business leaders in the community. Volunteering as a mentor for the August Youth Leadership Conference.
  • Offering free or low cost coaching to BIPOC leaders to support them and promote their advancement in corporate settings.
  • Attended workshop hosted by PDX Women of Color on White Allyship.
  • Committed to Do. Do More. Do Better. campaign.
  • Having candid discussions during client coaching sessions on White supremacy and anti-racism in corporate America.
  • Elevating Black coaches and colleagues on social media.
  • Intentionally broadening my coach circle to include BIPOC colleagues.
  • Serving on the leadership team for 2020 Women on Boards in Portland and making sure that the planning, execution, and participation of the event is not done just through a White lens.
  • Donating money to Black advocacy organizations.
  • Continuing to read, reflect, learn, and unlearn. . . .

What can we do better? Please share your thoughts. We are open to your suggestions.

What are YOU pledging to do? If you are a White leader, we ask you to join us in taking action.

If you are a BIPOC leader interested in coaching and if you need financial assistance to participate, please email me and let’s find a time to talk.
